Mary A. Carlich

Born and raised in Oregon, Mary Carlich grew up in Southwest Portland. After graduating from Lincoln High School, she attended Santa Clara University, completing a B.S. in Political Science and a minor in Studio Art. She then attended Santa Clara University School of Law.

With a passion for law and a commitment to serving her community, Mary has garnered invaluable experience through various roles, shaping her into a versatile and resourceful legal professional. Mary began her career as a Research Associate Attorney at a local power company, where she delved into regulatory matters and environmental law. Driven by a desire to effect change at a grassroots level, Mary pivoted to the realm of public service as a Field Representative for a local congressional office. In this capacity, she engaged directly with constituents, addressing their concerns and advocating for policies that aligned with their needs.

Eager to broaden her legal expertise, Mary ventured again into the corporate realm as Associate Legal Counsel for a leading regulatory compliance company. Mary's keen eye for detail and her adeptness at interpreting and applying regulations enabled her to provide invaluable counsel to her corporate client, ensuring adherence to legal standards and effectively mitigating risks.

After years of practicing in-house, and becoming a parent, Mary found herself drawn to areas of law that directly impacted families and individuals in vulnerable stages of life. Mary’s current practice focuses on estate planning and elder law, including probate, trust administration, guardianship, conservatorship, long-term care and Medicaid planning.

In her free time, Mary enjoys knitting, embroidery, reading, and spending time with her spouse and two children.
